Two Mexican youths, 14 and 15, were arrested Monday evening for burglary at Charlie Price's Western Auto. They entered by breaking the north window. firearms were stolen and found nearby. The case is being handled by the Terry County juvenile officer.
Mark Willis, 17, driver of a Ford, was hospitalized after a collision with a truck four miles south of Brownfield on the Wellman Highway Tuesday afternoon. The truck, carrying furniture for Stacy Mason and driven by Thomas Thornton, 41, caught fire but firefighters limited damage. Authorities on the scene included Captain J. T. Churchwell, Juvenile Officer Rodney Crews, Patrolman Josselet, Sergeant Pirtle, Sheriff Homer Parker, and Deputy Pete Cramer.
Terry County Junior Livestock Show ran Thursday and Friday. Union boys beat New Home 75 to 63 in bi district play Tuesday night in the Texan Dome, advancing to Regional 1-B. They face Marathon at 8:30 p.m. Friday, with possible semifinal Saturday at 11 a.m. and final at 6:30 p.m. all in the SPC Dome.

Tom Fordyce is named manager of the Tokio operation for Anderson Grain Corporation arriving last month to oversee duties. Born in Port Arthur and reared in Katy, he is a Vietnam veteran with a degree in animal science from Sam Houston University. He previously worked as livestock supervisor for the Texas Department of Corrections and with Pfizer Genetics before moving to Brownfield from Katy.
