Scholarship Trust Honors E H Danner
The Elmer H. Danner Scholarship Trust was announced at a June 25 dinner at the San Angelo Country Club honoring retiring General Telephone Company of the Southwest president Danner. The trust funds educational scholarships for employees' children and will continue with future contributions. Danner, who since 1957 has led the company, will mark 40 years in telephony when his successor L Gray Beck takes the presidency next Monday. The event renamed the Southwest Company Library and Museum of Telephony the E H Danner Library and Museum of Telephony, dedicated to employees’ learning and telephony history. A highlight was the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Danner and family from Norfolk, Virginia.
