Water districts join in interlocal management pact
An interlocal agreement between South Plains Water District in Terry County and Llano Estacado Water District in Gaines County takes effect July 1 and runs through August 31, 2000. June Rain Totals Rise Above Normal in Brownfield
Brownfield received .29 inches of rain Thursday night, raising June total to 4.47 inches, about 1.47 inches above the normal 3.0. Year to date through June 25, the city has 10.07 inches, 17 percent ahead of the six month normal of 8.6. No property damage reported. Electric Superintendent Butch Wagner noted only brief power blinks. Nearby gauges show Tokio Co-op Gin at 1.0 inches, Wellman’s Southwest Cotton Growers around 2.0 inches for June, with some areas west of Wellman higher. A Brownfield resident, Ted D. Hardy, 85, was killed in a car crash near Llano. Tommy D. Hardy was injured and airlifted to a San Antonio hospital.
