Winery In California Supports Education Through Wine
In Napa Valley the Christian Brothers winery Mont La Salle produces about 14 million gallons yearly to fund education. Profits from wine and brandy go to Christian Brothers schools in the U S and the Philippines while 70 boys study at the Western Province Novitiate. The order supports 11 high schools worldwide though outside the Western Province schools are funded by dioceses and donations. Brother Timothy oversees winemaking and cherishes corkscrews, eating breakfast standing up every Friday to mark the crucifixion.
