Youngsters to Run Here in Brownfield Area Meet
Youngsters in Brownfield and surrounding areas will run in a 4 track meet at Cub Stadium at 10 a.m. June 25, per Coach James Morris. The event, open to all up to 12 years, is sponsored by Brownfield Summer Recreation Program and Terry County United Fund. Also noted is a Girls Softball League tournament slated June 26 and 27 with divisions for Pee Wee to Midget ages and events including sprints and distance runs.

Music Camp Draws 210 Students From 10 States
Attends Camp Jalene Brown of Route 5 Brownfield joined the annual music camp June 13 to 19 at Lubbock Christian College. The program offered choral and instrumental instruction, marching, music fundamentals, song directing, and sight reading for junior and senior high students. The 210 participants came from 10 states.

Kendrick Library Hosts Summer Reading Club Across State
Young readers at Kendrick Memorial Library join the Summer Reading Club co sponsored by the library and the Texas State Library. More than 100000 youngsters statewide will read for fun using red white and blue logs. The 1976 theme Movin On Then and Now features costumes and posters with vehicles through history and reading logs with a movable timeline. Project coordinator is Risa Brown.

THP Investigates Nine TC Accidents in May
The Texas Highway Patrol investigated nine traffic crashes on rural Terrs County highways in May led by Sgt H F Pirtle. No fatalities, 17 injuries were reported. The May 1976 rural Terry County summary tallies 42 accidents with two deaths and 31 injuries, against broader regional figures for May 1976 and May 1979.
