Woman Sheriff’s Dept Probes Elderly Assault in Terry County
The Terry County Sheriff’s Department investigates a reported sexual assault of an elderly northeast Terry County woman, alleged to involve two male suspects. The victim received treatment at Brownfield Regional Medical Center, remaining there as of Tuesday, with the incident believed to have occurred about 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Several individuals were booked Friday into Terry County Jail on varying charges including driving while intoxicated and public intoxication, with bonds set and some discharged.

Pleas Heard In 121st District Court Judge Lists Two Pleas

Vacation Bible School Plans Near Plains July 8
The Hillside Church of Christ in Plains will host a one day Vacation Bible School on Saturday July 8 starting at 9 a.m. for children ages four through sixth grade. The Whitharral Old Settlers Reunion met June 3 at the Whitharral School Cafeteria with 35 attendees and officers for 1996 named including Arvilla Tipton, Delphi Taylor, and Margaret Box. The Plains Lions Club and Plains Chamber of Commerce discussed community events and fundraising, including Welcome to Plains signs and a schedule of local activities.
