Perry signs school seatbelt bill for buses in Texas
Governor Rick Perry signed House Bill 323 requiring three point seat belts on all new school district buses after September 1, 2010 and on charter buses by September 1, 2011. The law, prompted by the 2006 West Brook High School bus crash, includes SBOE training and safety guidelines with immediate belt use by students and drivers.

Brownfield ISD to Hold Regular Board Meeting Monday
Brownfield Independent School District trustees will hold a regular board meeting on Monday at 6 30 p m in the boardroom of the Administration Building at 601 Tahoka Road. The agenda includes the district business report tax report facility use requests the 2005 06 financial audit by CFO Jay Lashaway and sale of property a budget workshop and Employee of the Month presentation. Terry County 4-H Quiz Bowl Team Places Seventh
The Terry County 4-H Food and Nutrition Quiz Bowl Team placed seventh among 23 teams at the State 4-H Round Up in College Station June 5 to 8, 2007. Members were Emeline Crutcher Kelcey Elkins Lauren Russell and Shelby Jacob Duncan. They praised the Meat Judging Team for their first place finish.
