A Perryton temporary office opened at the Fairgrounds with Jesse D. Young in charge. Little field areas around Muleshoe Dimmitt Farwell Hereford show harvest prospects 25 percent below average and will begin this week.

He participated in graduation ceremonies May 17 with about 3000 men in the weekly Recruit Brigade Review. Training covered naval orientation etiquette traditions ordnance gunnery first aid swimming seamanship shipboard routine sentry duty physical fitness and drill.

Ex-Judge G P Beane Rites Held in Plains
Judge G P Beane 78 former Denver City and Yoakum County official was buried at Plains Cemetery after 2 30 p m services in First Baptist Church of Plains. Beane moved from Bodcaw Arkansas to Yoakum County in 1939 and served eight years as Yoakum County Judge later holding roles as justice of the peace and city judge. He led a long career in education and local governance with church and Masonic ties. Survivors include his wife two daughters a brother and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
