Tommy McMeans is a seven year veteran of the Texas Highway Patrol based in Brownfield. He says the job is his life, offering service to motorists and communities though it demands long hours and time away from family. He contrasts patrol work with earlier sheriff’s department service, notes rugged training, and emphasizes dedication to preventing accidents and aiding in disasters such as hurricanes and tornadoes.
