Brighter Cotton Forecast Reported To Warehousemen

The Cotton Warehouse Association says a textile recession may have bottomed out in January and started a gradual upturn as 250 members heard Earl W. Sears of the National Cotton Council outline brighter signals. He cited improved fiber consumption and rising man made fiber shipments, plus progress on letters of credit and forward export business with Europe, Japan, Korea and Taiwan. Sears warned 1975 cotton will not reach retail until 1976 and noted uncertainties in the export market.
