Rabid Animal Attacks Raise County Worries

Reports show two Lamesa women bitten by a rabid gray fox earlier this month fueling fear of a Terry County incident. Other recent cases include a Dawson County man bitten by his dog on April 20 and a Pecos County woman bitten by a bobcat last week.

Brownfield Middle School Band Sees Three Named to Honor Band

Three Brownfield Middle School Band members earned spots in the Honors Band during a week long camp at Angelo State University. Brownfield also received a trophy for sending the most students, an honor it has held 11 of the last 12 years. Band Director Bill Shipp noted the camp, run by ASU's music department, uses a special staff and directors from across Texas and neighboring states.

Brownfield S & L building purchase approved by council

Brownfield City Council approved buying the former Brownfield Savings and Loan building for 154,350 to house all city hall offices.
