Rodeo weekend planned by Terry County Posse

Plans continue for the Terry County Sheriff's Posse Rodeo at the TCSP Rodeo Arena this weekend. Events include bull riding saddle bronc bareback barrel racing and steer roping with youth events. The Rodeo Parade runs Saturday at 3 p.m. starting at Ross and North 5th Street and participants meet at 2 p.m. at the same corner. There is no charge to join the parade and organizers invite riders and clubs to participate.

Brownfield Council Advances Harvest Festival Plan At City Hall

Bones recovered at Lake Alan Henry may be Brownfield man

Skiers at Lake Alan Henry found human bones believed to be Aaron Smith Jr., 44, of Brownfield, who vanished after a last year boating crash in Garza County. The incident also injured Tommy Hines, 40, who survived. Police investigations followed but no charges were filed. Separately, Brownfield and Terry County suffered a prolonged telephone and internet outage starting around 4:15 p.m. with service restored by about 10:30 p.m. Windstream cited a cut cable during an AT&T project as the cause, with investigators reviewing details.
