Bustillos attends FCCLA convention in Anaheim
Meadow High School senior Li ana Bustillos joined 324 Texas delegates at the 2001 FCCLA National Leadership Meet in Anaheim, representing over 22,000 Texas members and about 4,900 delegates nationwide. She was elected Vice President of Parliamentary Law at a Texas Region I meeting and helped cast Texas votes.

Farm Bureau slams Texas redistricting plan by Cornyn
Texas Farm Bureau president Donald Patman says Attorney General John Cornyn's redistricting plan is partisan and unfair to rural Texas. It pairs many incumbent Democrats against Republicans in 10 districts, leaves 22 open seats, and would shrink rural representation while boosting urban districts especially in Harris County. Patman, a Waxahachie grain and cattle producer, warns agricultural issues are nonpartisan and opposes gerrymandering.
