Brownfield ISD approves principal reshuffle across campuses
Four of five Brownfield ISD principals will move to new campuses this fall after the BCISD Board unanimously approved superintendent Charles Harrison’s plan. Jerry Jones moves to High School, Carey White to Middle School, Fred Cawthon to Intermediate, and Jerry Thomas to Colonial Heights, while Oak Grove keeps its principal.

Countywide fire comms plan okayed by Terry County
The Terry County Commissioners approved a cooperative countywide communications system for the Brownfield Volunteer Fire Department. Fire Chief Marvin Dawson cited prior storm communication problems and outlined a countywide fire channel on a repeater. The project, costing about 12000 dollars, may receive a 5000 dollar grant from the Texas Forest Service, contingent on conditions including an operational fire plan and mutual aid arrangements with regional fire services.

Blood drive scheduled Saturday in Brownfield at Shady Oaks Church
United Blood Services will host a community blood drive in Brownfield from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday July 17 at Shady Oaks Church of God. Appointments can be made by calling Joe or Belinda Vinson at 755 2710 or Darla Timmons at 637 9309. United Blood Services is this year’s non profit blood provider serving 27 area hospitals after collecting, testing and distributing donations.
