Justice given 13 years for Meadow teen stabbing
Justice of Lubbock, 19, was sentenced by Judge Kelly Moore in 121st District Court after pleading guilty to stabbing a 16 year old Meadow High School player. The incident, linked to Erica Hicks, occurred near Meadow High School following a basketball tournament on January 9. Locals excel in final Firecracker Run of century
Texas oldest continuous road race held its 30th annual event at Terry County Park last Saturday. Brownfield athletes dominated with Olivia Wise Tabby Morin David Mendez Mary Ann Hernandez and Miguel Lira each earning first in their age groups. Wise led the first grade one mile, Morin won the sixth grade one miler, Mendez topped the 3 mile 16-19 group, Hernandez was best female in the women’s 3 mile, and Lira finished first in the 16-19 men’s 10 mile, within 16 seconds of the overall 10 mile winner.
