The Brownfield High School bands performed a brief concert before a 10:30 a.m. auditorium program with state and local officials, including Sunny Martinez and Sen. H. Dee Blanchard, praising patriotism and civic effort.

In June Brownfield consumed 46,485,400 gallons of water with 5,835,400 gallons from the Canadian River Program. The first water moved through city lines on June 16, peaking at 2,451,800 gallons in a day. The Canadian River supply will continue through August, with permanent mains connection planned for January.
