Firecracker Runs kickoff July 4th in Brownfield
The 25th Annual Firecracker Runs, Texas oldest road race, takes place Monday at Terry County Park Brownfield. Entry fees include child one mile $1 without shirt or $5 with shirt. WTRC families may register all paid club members for $10 total, receiving two shirts. Late registration July 4 7 to 7:45 a.m. The children’s one mile starts at 7:40 a.m.

July 4 Bar-B-Q at Terry County Heritage Museum
The Terry County Heritage Museum hosts an Annual 4th of July Bar-B-Q from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow with tickets $6 in advance or $7 at the door and an open house with music. The museum will be open Tuesday through Friday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Tips on using newly opened Subtitle D Landfill
The Brownfield City Landfill opened to serve Brownfield and Terry County residents with rules to maximize use. Guidelines cover hours 7am to 7pm weekdays 7am to 3pm Saturdays, load limits two trips per week per day 1000 pounds, and disposal rules. Fees apply to out of town residents 47.50 per ton, refrigerators incur a 7.50 charge for freon disposal, and yard waste goes to a compost pile to reduce space use.
