Brownfield Chamber Plans July 4th Celebration

Brownfield Chamber of Commerce announces Independence Day events at Terry County Park starting 7 p.m. with family games, a barbecue by H Bar C Restaurant, and a fireworks show after dark. Local residents may audition for slots including Tina Casper Terry, Shannon Devine, John Alvarado, and Going Public. Cub Scout Color Guard and American Legion will honor the flag.

Texas oldest road race fires up in Brownfield Saturday

The 29th Fire cracker Run, Texas oldest road race, will be held at Terry County Park this Saturday. Gavie Buchanan Hopkins, West Texas Running Club director, says participants come from across the state and Brownfield hosts a major event among year-round club races.

City landfill praised for efficient operation in Brownfield

Brownfield City Council to meet Thursday agenda items

The Brownfield City Council will convene in regular session at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to consider bids for bowling alley equipment and for a mounted hydraulic power unit with heavy duty hydraulic breaker. It will review an interlocal agreement with Brownfield School District for police drug dog services and a cooperation contract for Panhandle Regional Electrical Licensing Agency membership, plus a resolution authorizing lease purchase of a new scraper.
