West Texas Children's Centre update and cost change

Terry County Commissioners heard Architect David Messersmith detail a $23,784 change order for the WTCC project. Most of the amount covers water and sewer line work replacing a lift station, with $7,000 for additional facilities like floor drains and vanities. Lawmen honor former Chief at funeral service Monday

A large group gathered Monday to honor former Brownfield Police Chief J.T. Churchwell, who served 1977 to 1992 and died Friday after a lengthy illness. Speakers praised his loyalty, investigative skill, and background role, with services at First Baptist Church and a roll call by current Chief Bill Avera marking the end of his tour of duty.

Arrington Reports Water Level Changes Across Terry County

Lee Arrington manager of the South Plains Underground Water Conservation District spoke at the South Plains Water and Soil Conservation Conference. He presented groundwater measurements from over 100 Terry County wells showing declines in areas southeast of Brownfield and along Sea Graves Highway, with a small rise southeast of Meadow and some zones with no change.

Hospital auxiliary honors long service at BRMC closure

Former Terry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, active since January 27 1959, donated over 16 500 hours to Brownfield Regional Medical Center, aiding nursing students and purchasing patient care equipment. Five Pink Ladies retired after nearly 40 years of service, with leadership from Jenelle Burns and others.

Wellman students exhibit 68 animals at stock show

Wellman's stock show featured 68 animals as 3 steers and 65 swine were shown. Dustin Burris earned Grand Champion steer with Josh Burris as Reserve Grand, while Katie Davis and Amber Berryhill claimed Grand and Reserve Grand Swine titles. Showmanship went to Josh Burris in steers and Regan Graf in swine.
