Ice storm keeps City Power crew busy over weekend
Brownfield City Power crews battled an extended ice storm Saturday. Starting at about 5 a.m. power was down on the west side for 45 minutes to an hour, affecting about 200 homes. Crews repaired more than 40 to 60 broken services, many at meter bases, through the day and into the night. A major tree limb break near Cedar and Tate knocked lines together, tripping the reclosure and cutting power to the east side including the Terry County Sheriff's Office, Wal Mart and United, for 15 to 20 minutes. Some lines remained down Sunday with one or two still needing meter-base repairs Monday.
