Brownfield Citizen of the Year honored at Chamber banquet
Doug Ryburn, longtime Brownfield resident and Terry County Judge, received the Citizen of the Year award during the 52nd Brownfield Chamber of Commerce banquet at the Commons. A former Ince Oil driver, he rose to VP and head bookkeeper, later moving to Brownfield in 1966 to run a drugstore, furniture store, and two gas stations. He served on the City Council, including a mayor pro tem term, helped start the Crime Watch program, and held roles with the Chamber and advisory boards.

Area youth parade animals at Terry County stock show
The Terry County Jr. Livestock Show kicks off tomorrow with weigh in from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday January 21 and judging at 9 a.m. Friday January 22. About 300 animals will compete in steers lambs gilts and barrows with judges from Texas Tech Angelo State University and Stonewall County.
