Diddy Wa Diddy Juliff the Fort Bend hamlet tale
In Fort Bend County on Farm Road 521 lies Juliff once named for John F Juliff, but music fans know Diddy Wa Diddy. The nickname arose from Arthur Phelps 1929 song lyrics and Phil Harriss later misheard homage. Residents still wonder what Diddie Wa Diddie means as history brushes the town with song. Also notes that Texas law 1862 authorized county patrols to curb theft and bandits.
