Brownfield Council Approves Service and Budget Measures
The Brownfield City Council reviewed licensing terms and a maintenance cost of 7 668 annually for a Crime Star system with reduced 700 per year alternative cited. They approved Rice s request and formalized a Brownfield Fire Department contract at 22 000 yearly for fire suppression with training funded from those funds. A resident question about Energas bills prompted clarification that a 6 50 customer charge appears on statements but is not a rate increase. The council discussed unencumbered funds transfers between departments, with guidance that transfers align to the fiscal year and within departments, and a workshop was proposed. Mayor Moore noted no word on National Guard Armory sale and a work session on the city charter was scheduled. Call Brownfield News at 637 4535.
