Name In The News A Good Neighbor Jack Garrett
Rev. Jack Garrett and his family settled in Brownfield in 1961, with 30 years as minister of First Christian Church and his wife Robbie teaching 27 years. Their daughters Anne, Jean, and Barbara attended Brownfield High School. Anne became 1968 Harvest Festival Queen. Garrett recalled his meeting his wife over popcorn in a college English class, and he stayed in Brownfield for its people and community service. He has served on United Way, band boosters, PTA and was in the Rotary Club for 30 years. The Citizen profile honors him as a Good Neighbor.
