Brownfield Council reviews budget workshop items
Brownfield city officials led a two hour budget workshop with about 40 attendees led by Mayor Brad Moore and City Manager Eldon Jobe. The session covered employee pay raises, renovations at the CRTC facility including bathrooms, tile and a new camera system, and sidewalk work with an estimated 5000 dollars in renovations. The council penciled in a 50 per month across the board increase for all city employees as part of equalizing pay scales before the March 18 budget vote.

Caswell Earns TGCA All-State Volleyball Honor
Brownfield High School senior Caswell joins Jill Addison of Lamesa and Karanae Spradlin of Seminole as District 4 3A standouts on the 1998 TGCA Class 3A All-State Volleyball Team. Caswell led the Lady Cubs with 93.9 percent hitting, 12 digs per match, 94 solo blocks and 232 total digs while averaging 4.5 per match. Caswell is a unanimous first team pick. Brownfield finished third and earned a state playoff berth.
