City to crack down on unvaccinated dogs in west district
Animal Control Officer Don Anderson says starting March 2 the department will target streets S Second to S Sixth and the Three-Point Trailer Park area west of City Park to seize unvaccinated dogs. Owners must vaccinate and restrain pets or face fines up to 200 dollars with court notices.

Training for Private Applicator Certification in Terry County
A training program for Terry County producers to earn private applicator certification is set for February 28 at 7 00 p m in the Brownfield Courthouse. Jim Foy says the Texas Agricultural Extension Service program covers laws safety labeling and pest identification and lasts about 3 1/2 hours. Attendees may submit a Private Applicator Certification request to TDA or opt for self study with a questionnaire after reviewing materials at the county extension office.

Terry Eades shot by San Diego police on traffic stop
Terry Eades, 22, a suspect in a Jan 31 burglary in Brownfield, was shot by San Diego police after reaching for a 45 caliber handgun during a traffic stop. Local officers confirmed the shooting on Thursday, Feb 24.
