Two wildcat wells in the northwest Ferry County area are under drill by Joseph I. O Neill Jr and Great Western Drilling. The Sun Oil Company No. 1 B W Adcock in Adair Wolf camp yielded 55.15 barrels of 39.8 gravity oil with 40 percent water. perforations 8,563 to 8,571 feet were not treated. The No. 1 E Hays Steber and No. 1 Mrs Ella Covington are in C M Survey sections near Tokio, planned to depths of 6800 and 6000 feet respectively, with locations stated.

Red Cross Drive Starts Monday in Terry County
The 1958 Red Cross drive kicks off Monday with a 9 am meeting at Inquire Restaurant. School Census Starts Monday In Brownfield District
A district wide census begins in March per John Curtis curriculum coordinator and census trustee. The count covers eligible students and preschool children with house to house visits planned. If residents are away, enumerators will leave stamped self addressed envelopes with census forms to be mailed back.

Two Auto Crashes Reported on Red Highway and Highway 62
Sheriff’s office logged two one car crashes totaling about 3400 in damages. Capps of McCamey suffered a broken leg when his 1951 Ford left a curve. Miss Dorothy Felkner also of McCamey was uninjured. A second incident near Meadow on Highway 62 involved a 192 International truck driven by Troy Melyon Cook of Amarillo overturning after hitting a culvert. no injuries reported.

Brownfield Men Die In Separate Oil Field Accidents
Two Brownfield men both 35 died in weekend oil field accidents. Bruce C Frost fell about 64 feet while building a derrick near Clovis New Mexico. Harold H Cook died after being struck by pipe tongs at the Wildcat site east of Fisins. Frost's body was sent to Peoria Illinois for services. burial followed in Tech Memorial cemetery Lubbock. Burial for Cook took place in Brownfield with funeral services at First Baptist Church.
