Day Care Center Stands as One of State’s Best
Rosa Gonzales and five adults at the Day Care Center wage a hygienic start as a child plays. The center, in the School Administration building on Tohoka Highway, celebrates its second anniversary in March. Organized in 1971, it arose from Community Action surveys and was spearheaded by Viola Simmonds. Funded by Welfare and United Fund through local groups, it operates with a seven-member executive and four officers. The school board supplied space in the east wing, avoiding rental or new construction.
