Grand Jury Indicts Fight Here Thursday
Four men were sentenced to the penitentiary in District Court after a Thursday Terry County Grand Jury session. Indictments included burglary and wife and child abandonment. February 6 jail breakers faced charges with three sent to Huntsville and one at large. Jackie Gabie of Lubbock pled guilty to Pat's B6 service station hijacking for a five year term. Wes ley Ellis Gene Richards and Robert Jones of Lubbock received three year sentences for burglary of Den son Salvage, tied to the same night theft of old radiators.

Local Woman's Brother Killed In Big Accident
Funeral services pending in Post for George Willard Huff 37. Huff an employee of John Grappe Drilling Co was killed near Snyder Tuesday when a heavy elevator struck him while he worked with a drilling crew. Mrs Betty Joyce Bond of Brownfield is his sister.

City Council Accepts Resignation of Chief Hamilton
The Hamilton city council accepted Chief Houston Hamilton's resignation effective March 1. City Manager Eunice Jones said applications for a replacement are welcome and a new chief may not be hired before month end. Hamilton served eight years as chief, after earlier tours as patrolman and deputy sheriff. The council also discussed US 2 right of way with potential condemnation actions for remaining property.

Williams Announces For Dist. Attorney
Mitchell Williams of Tahola announced his candidacy for elective District Attorney of the 106th Judicial District after being appointed to the post last June. A Hope, Arkansas native aged 24, he served in World War II, rose from buck private to captain, and earned a Baylor Law degree in 1956 along with a business administration credential. Local Resident's Father Dies At Coleman
Funeral services for M. J. Hughes 80 were held at Bible Baptist church with Rev. J W Wallace and Rev. Paul Smith assisting. He was the father of Mrs. W Armstrong of Brownfield. He had been ill for years and she had stayed in Coleman several days before his death Saturday afternoon. Mr and Mrs Armstrong and children returned to Brownfield Tuesday.
