Brownfield Jaycees Walter Meyer and Robert Becker urge Terry County farmers to donate to the Terry County Junior Livestock Show set for April. The two vocational ag teachers estimate 65 steers and 175 swine in the livestock count and say premiums require substantial funds. Contributions may be mailed to the Brownfield Junior Chamber of Commerce address in Brownfield Texas.

The body of 47 year old Celestino Lumbreras was found in a deserted house 144 miles north of Meadow. Howard Spencer discovered the body and helped trigger an investigation. Authorities ruled death due to natural causes from malnutrition and exposure. Lumbreras was wanted on felony charges in Carlsbad and for car theft in Littlefield.
