Balloting dates are set April 2 April 5 May 7 June 4 and November 8. April 2 covers school board trustees with two terms ending. April 5 includes Brownfield mayor and two council seats. May 7 first primary features state representatives, district attorney, sheriff, tax assessor collector and local officials. June 4 second primary will determine run offs before the November general election.

County Records 100 Rural Accidents in 1959
Terry County registered 100 rural accidents in 1959 causing seven deaths, 67 injuries, and property damage of 823,385 per Texas DPS. Seven fatalities followed from six crashes. 39 more accidents caused injuries and 55 were property damage only. Highway Patrol district counts 155 rural deaths.
