Services Held For B. M. Wade
Funeral services for B. M. Wade were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Lewis Clegg and Rev. Lonnie Voorhies officiating. Burial followed in Resthaven Mausoleum, Lubbock, under Brownfield Funeral Home. Wade, 85, died Thursday at Brownfield General Hospital after a lengthy illness. He moved to Terry County in 1916 from Hamlin and farmed and ranched in Tokio before retirement. Survivors include sisters Mrs. Ira McCarty of Megargel and Mrs. Cleo Davidson of Big Spring.

Optimists Hold Weekly Meeting in Brownfield
The Brownfield Optimist Club held its weekly noon meeting in the Flame Room of Pioneer Natural Gas Company. Humble Oil and Refining Company’s film Southwest Conference Highlights of 1963 was shown by Woody Swaringen, with 24 optimists in attendance led by President James W. Evans. Plans were mapped for an inter-club visit with the Southwest Optimist Club of Lubbock on February 25.

State Bank Raises Capital and Surplus in Stockholder Meeting
Brownfield State Bank & Trust Company stockholders approved a 50000 increase in capital via a stock dividend and a 50000 increase in permanent surplus drawn from undivided profits. Rites Pending For T. C. Pruitt

Parents Urged To Complete School Census For 1964
The Brownfield School Business office asks parents to provide names and addresses of children starting school for the first time September 1 1964. Business manager Dillie Kelley says only 205 first graders have registered and a census blank will be mailed after parents call 637-2424. Approximately 475 first graders are enrolled this year and that many or more are expected next year.
