Brownfield reaches 3 000 telephones with new milestone

General Telephone of the Southwest reports 3 000 instruments installed in Brownfield this week. Paul Farrar says the milestone caps a growth pattern since 1930, with long distance capacity expanded and a toll dialing center established last year. The Brownfield exchange now totals 14 long distance switchboard positions and a 33 million telephone dialing capability.
