Man Breaks Neck In Burr Pile Cave
Two serious accidents reported this week with A W Hill escaping injury after a late model car hit trees near Brownfield. Abe Turner remains in critical condition with a broken neck from being trapped in a burr pile cave at Johnson Gin while tunneling with a loader and was transported to a Lubbock hospital.

Streamliner Visit Sparks Brownfield School Tours
About 1290 Brownfield students will tour the Santa Fe streamliner next Tuesday. Supt. O R Douglas says all buses will be used to bring fifth graders and younger to view the train, with the streamliner arriving from Meadow at 11 30 and leaving for Wellman at 1 30. J M Cook reports C G and S S Gin Co has bought Yoakum County Gin between Tokio and Plains and will install modern gin machinery soon. Cook, a longtime gin man, becomes part owner and manager and will reside in Brownfield.
