Funeral services for Jim H. Moore set Thursday

Funeral services for Jim H. Moore, 74, are planned for 2 p m Thursday at Memorial Chapel of Brownfield Funeral Home with Rev L C Edwards of Fremont officiating. Burial will follow in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under Brownfield Funeral Home direction. He died Tuesday in St Marys Hospital Lubbock after a long illness. He resided on Rt 4 Brownfield. Survivors include his wife Mabel three sons James H Ulysses Kan Charles H and Joe B of Denton five daughters Mrs Don Smith Orville Calif Mrs Jiggs Tankersley Brownfield Mrs Dewayne Kisor San Angelo one sister Mrs Eunice Nivens Stinnett 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Annual Brownfield Chamber Banquet Set Thursday

Light Moisture Drops In Brownfield Area

George Co-Authors House Bill 11 on Cotton Trailer Weights

State Representative Jesse T. George from Cochran Hockley and Yoakum Counties coauthored House Bill 11 with Representatives Wayne and Parsley. The measure would raise the gross weight limit for farm trailers and semi trailers transporting cotton from 4000-10000 pounds to 4000-15000 pounds and was referred to a highways committee hearing, with a subcommittee to study. Support comes from ginners associations and agricultural groups noting relief after the bracero program ends and the need to move cotton efficiently.
