Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman penned play to visit the Intermediate School this Thursday through Saturday with 7:30 p.m. performances. Tickets cost 5 dollars for adults and 2 dollars for children.

Swoopes game set in Brownfield for Texas Tech vs Rice

Tickets remain for the Texas Tech Lady Raiders game against Rice University in Brownfield. The 2:05 p.m. Saturday showdown at Lubbock Municipal Coliseum features Brownfield in Section AA, with prices 2 and 1 at the door 4 and 2 for adults and students respectively.

Amoco to Build Fire Training Facility Near Brownfield

Brownfield city leaders approve an Amoco plan to construct a 93000 fire training complex on a 15 acre site near the city landfill. The facility will include a fire house a smoke house and classroom to train local and area firefighters with courses for volunteers and visiting personnel from Seminole Anton and surrounding towns. Amoco will fund construction and maintenance while the city supplies water and electricity. a donation option was discussed but the preferred plan keeps Amoco involved.

United Way chairman proclaims 1991 success for drive

United Way chairman Rodney Keeton announces the 1991 campaign exceeded the 25000 dollar goal with a total of 25637.76 dollars to fund local charities. He notes it is the first sustained effort to reach the target in years and calls for more volunteers for the fall drive to boost involvement. Beneficiary groups include Goodfellows Brownfield Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels Salvation Army Red Cross Boy Scouts Girl Scouts Children’s Protective Services and Big Brother Big Sister.
