Gear Works Prospering at Brownfield Plant
Haider, manager of The Gear Works a Dotty Dan Inc. unit, told the Chamber of Commerce that the Brownfield garment factory now employs 70 people up from 12 a year ago. The firm started in October 1973, expenses run about $100,000 annually, payroll around $135,000, and products ship to 40 states with Brownfield tags. Haider noted welfare-office employment as a first for the Lubbock area and projected up to 85 workers within three to four months.
