The second class of vocational nurses at Terry County Hospital will graduate Saturday at First Presbyterian Church. The 7 p.m. ceremony will present diplomas to six graduates and follow with a hospital auxiliary reception.

Brownfield Chamber Set for 51st Membership Banquet Tonight
The Brownfield Chamber of Commerce holds its annual membership meeting and banquet at 7 p.m. in the Brownfield Junior High School cafeteria East Main. President Paul Farrar says the 90 minute program will review the past year and outline plans for the next. The principal speaker is Louie E. Throgmorton of Dallas, a longtime public services executive with Republic National Life Insurance.

Daughter of Terry Pioneers Dies In Creswell Oregon
Virgil May Brown, daughter of early Terry County settlers near Gomez, died February 5 in Creswell Oregon. Born August 16 1905, she lived with husband cafe teria manager for the University of Oregon and left several heirs including Bob Brown Kenneth Brown and Larry Brown. Funeral was in Creswell with four grandchildren and surviving siblings and in laws.

Volunteers in Terry County with the American Cancer Society sew bandages from donated white cloth. Mrs. Claude Merritt, service chair, says many cannot afford supplies while the bandages, sized 3x3 to 12x12 inches, are sterilized at Terry County Hospital and distributed to patients at home.

Services Held for Lou McCrary in Brownfield
Final rites for Louis McCrary age 72 were conducted at Memorial Chapel Brownfield Funeral Home. He died Sunday at his home in Meadow after two years of illness. He moved to Terry County in 1932 after ranching in Tohoka then farmed south of Brownfield until retirement. He was WWI veteran and American Legion member. Survivors include wife son two daughters and several grandchildren. Burial at Terry County Memorial Cemetery with pallbearers named.
