Residents Fight Tahoka Road No Parking Signs
A large Tahoka Road meeting saw residents oppose No Parking signs from Lubbock Highway to Cedar Street with petitions against erection. The council discussed speed limits, traffic lights on Tahoka Road, and asked the highway department to reduce limits while city officials pursue signals. Brownfield voters will go to the polls Saturday April 3 for city elections. Don Park will serve as judge with Henry Newman as alternate. council terms for Mayor Lloyd Hahn and Councilmen Tommy Hix and Bonner Lytle expire. Hix and Lytle eligible for reelection while Hahn has served the limit. The Jaycee Distinguished Service Awards Banquet at Brownfield High School Commons drew a large crowd with Jaycee of the Year Theo Brinson and Outstanding Young Man of Terry County Bill Long recognized.
