Bobby Fletcher found a woman's purse containing 6400 in hundred dollar bills a social security check for 85 40 a silver dollar and a half dollar and delivered it to the Brownfield Police Department on Monday morning. Police say the owner was located and commended Fletcher for his honesty.
Masso was elected president of Terry County Community Action at its annual meeting held Tuesday at the Chamber building. Jack Garrett and Tim Faulkenberry were elected first and second vice presidents, with masso succeeding Alva J. Geron as chair.Geron presided briefly before turning to Masso. Don Hensley reported progress on Meals on Wheels and youth programs, noting the need for a sponsoring agent, with the American Legion mentioned. Shirley Bryson outlined goals for family planning and social services, aiming to reach 14 new families monthly after contacting 445 people in January.
Russell Stewart serves as Goodyear's retail sales manager in Brownfield, a Tulsa native and son of Harold and Janie Stewart. He previously worked in Tulsa in the same role, holds a music background from Oklahoma State University, and plans further study in ministry of music possibly at TCU. He attends First Christian Church and is joining Evening Lions Club while pursuing passions in music and fishing.
