The glass stone and steel structure features terrazzo work areas indirect lighting and drive in windows. Directors and officers cited growth since 1951 and assets rising from 461000 to 5458000 by 1958.

Brownfield Texas aims for a 30000 yearly budget with 23 subcommittees formed by the chamber’s membership and finance panel. Vice President Charles Kersh says each subgroup groups local businesses by similarity and will recruit full member dues as plans unfold. Credit Course Set for Businessmen and Salespeople Here
A special ten hour training course for Brownfield merchants credit managers and credit employees runs February 23 through 26 at 7 30 p m in the Brownfield High School library. The program titled Retail Credit Procedures will be led by Lowry M Carpenter a University of Texas retail credit specialist with prior experience as a credit manager and state collector. The sessions are sponsored by Retail Credit Bureau Brownfield Chamber of Commerce and Brownfield High School Distributive Education Program. Attendance costs three dollars and is urged for local business personnel.

Last Rites For Joe A. Roberts Father Of Resident
Funeral services for Joe A. Roberts were held at Brownfield Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray E mor officiating. Roberts 65, former Level land resident, died after a two month illness and had been living with his daughter Mrs. Virgil Turner of 613 Park Lane. He was a blacksmith before moving to town. Burial was in Terry County Memorial Cemetery. Surviving include wife, son Larry of Wolfforth, daughters Mrs. Don Frederick of Hobbs and Mrs. Turner, a brother Mack of Wynnwood, sisters Mrs. Laura White, Mrs. Clemmie Thorne, Mrs. Lara Eller, and four grandchildren.

The Rev. Ralph O'Dell pastor of First Presbyterian Church is among six American ministers chosen to lead a European tour this summer. Sponsored by American Travel Company the trip visits England France Belgium Holland Germany Austria Italy Sweden Denmark and Switzerland. O'Dell has chaired Brownfield Rotary International Service for three years and led Brownfield to host foreign visitors, including 68 arrivals and foreign students, bolstering local hospitality. Robert Baumgardner urges Terry farmers to return ballots on a proposed Brownfield Cotton Classing Office. Of 1,070 mailed in late January, 243 returned with 223 for and 20 against. USDA rules require sufficient return before funding. Gaines and Yoakum show high support. Ballots can be mailed or cast at the courthouse through County Agent Jim Foy.

Othell Whitson captured All-Events with 1,729. Audie Lasiter and Reba Church won doubles with 1,138, edging Minnie Bowman and Jean Finley at 1,135. Finley also won singles with 590.
