In Brownfield in the 500 block of South Eighth a 14 year old, Billy Minyard, was knocked from his bicycle by a car driven by 83 year old William Bryant Benton. He was uninjured. Benton turned his car in front of the bike.

Spooked Auto Slips Into Reverse in Quiet Street
Raymond Buckner left his car running at his home on North Bell and the vehicle allegedly slipped into reverse. It rolled from 401 North Bell, crossed the street, and bumped a legally parked car at 321 North Bell before stopping near the Bendys residence kitchen. Lily talent entry cake tradition grows at Lions talent show
Mrs. Dennis Q. Lilly of 415 East Stewart will enter the Lions annual Tournament of Talent for the ninth time with a cake auction. The high school event runs February 25 and 26 in the auditorium. Her multi layered coco nut cake features decorations such as flags and past themes. Proceeds from the cakes have reached about 100 dollars per cake, with a top bid of 120 dollars in 1958. The idea began when the talent show started.
