Mr and Mrs C C West own papa and mama monkeys, Nancy Cheeta and Pee Wee. Pee Wee born January 13 at their home believed to be Terry County's first monkey. Nancy had 15 teeth extracted after biting Mrs West years ago.

Stolen Ford Found Abandoned in Del Rio
Del Rio sheriff's office reported a 31 Ford owned by Tommy Hurd was found abandoned in the city after being stolen from in front of the Hurd home late Saturday night. His brother Macky discovered the theft and noted nearby street lights were out. No damage was confirmed.

Streamlined Diesel Train to Make Three County Stops
A new streamlined diesel passenger train will serve the South Plains with overnight service to Chicago. It will visit Brownfield on Tuesday February 15 from 11 30 AM to 1 30 PM for a luncheon stop and will have other brief stops at Meado w and Wellman as it prepares for daily service between Amarillo and Lubbock starting February 20. Officials from the railroad and the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce invite residents and area youth to tour the train and receive souvenirs and entertainment.

Funeral services for Charles E. Jenkins held at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jones Weathers officiating. He died at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after a week’s illness. The Brownfield Parents and Teachers Association and City Council held their first joint meeting in the high school Home Economics room with 15 members present. Adult education director Mrs Curtis Sterling spoke on Adult Education in a Democratic Society and the course was approved for sponsorship. Officers elected were Mrs P R Cates president, Mrs Eaton Evans vice president, Mrs T C Williams secretary, and Mrs George Steele treasurer. The next meeting is set for Feb 10 and PTA presidents will notify their representatives.
