Mitchell Elevated to Vice President at First National Bank

Diane Mitchell has been promoted to Vice President and Cashier at First National Bank after the January board meeting. Brownfield Intermediate to join Texas Partnership Schools Initiative

Brownfield Intermediate School will join 82 Texas campuses in the Partnership Schools Initiative by the Texas Education Agency. The program gives schools flexibility from state laws to boost achievement and close gaps while letting educators design lessons and timing. Principal Tedna Taylor and Superintendent Dr. John Dosher emphasized equity, excellence, and teacher autonomy.

Hutchison touts Texas First plan during Texas tour

Texas State Treasurer Kay Bailey Hutchison toured Brownfield as part of a seven city mission promoting a Texas First policy. She urged Texas office requirements for brokers accountants and lawyers, cited a record $1 billion raised for taxpayers, highlighted unclaimed property returns, and questioned state lottery management while projecting $462 million first year revenue.

Brownfield and Wellman Livestock Shows Schedule Update

The Brownfield Livestock Show starts at 1 p.m. this Saturday at the Terry County Show Barn. The Wellman show is at 6 p.m. Monday Feb 3. Terry County Livestock Show runs Feb 6 to 8 at the Show Barn with weigh-in Thursday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Lambs Friday 10 a.m. then swine. Saturday steers 9 a.m. barbecue noon premium sale 1 p.m.
