Ellington Named Outstanding Citizen of Terry County for 1974
Leonard Ellington vice president and trust officer of First National Bank received the Outstanding Citizen of Terry County for 1974 at the Brownfield Chamber banquet. Awards were presented by last year’s recipient Alva J Geron with Geron as master of ceremonies. Ellington has long served as a civic volunteer and church leader and helped direct the Terry County Heritage Museum grand opening. He is a World War II veteran and active in multiple local organizations including the United Fund, Scottish Rite, and American Legion.

Rosa Marie Duran, daughter of Manuel and Mrs. Duran of Route 5, is this year’s March of Dimes poster child for Terry County. She had open heart surgery after referral to a Lubbock cardiologist and Dallas hospital, with expenses covered by the March of Dimes. Local officials E. E.
