Daniel Services Held Saturday in Plains Baptist Church
Funeral services for J H Daniel known as Pap were held at 2 p m Saturday at Plains Baptist Church with Rev J L Bozeman officiating. Burial followed in Terry County Memorial Cemetery under Brownfield Funeral Home direction. Daniel, 89, died after a long illness at Brownfield Convalescent Center. He lived in Terry County since 1924, farmed in Meadow area before moving to Plains in 1944. Survivors include his wife three sons Frank and Virgil of Brownfield and Wayne of Salem four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Narcotics Charge Brought Marihuana Confiscated
The second marihuana confiscation in a month occurred in Terry County with the Friday arrest of Valentin A. Villalobos aged 26 at a service station he operates at 7th and Main Streets. Deputy Webster aided. Reyna was questioned but not charged. Villalobos is held on $310,000 bond for possession of marihuana, with about a pound of processed and unprocessed marijuana and a pistol found during the arrest.

Two Highway Flips Reported By Patrolman
Patrolman Tommy McMeans investigated two crashes on US Highway 62 four miles south of Wellman and four miles south of Brownfield. Keith Coffman Coffman of Lubbock escaped unscathed when his 1964 Dodge and a 1963 Ford toppled after veering into deep sand. both vehicles sustained considerable damage. In the Brownfield incident, Raymond Howard Carter of Odessa was injured when his vehicle wrecked about 10 30 am on Highway 62.
