Wal Mart Scholarship Offer For Local High School Senior
The Brownfield Wal Mart will present a $1,000 Wal Mart scholarship to a local high school senior showing high academics school and community involvement and family need. The award is part of the Sam Walton Community Leader Awards by the Wal Mart Foundation. This year over 2,000 scholarships totaling more than $2 million are awarded.

U S Army Private Christopher Barnett son of Edward and Movita Barnett of Brownfield has completed One Station Unit Training at Fort McClellan Alabama. Five individuals sentenced in 121st District Court by Judge Kelly Moore
Dist. Judge Kelly Moore handed down sentences to five subjects in 121st District Court Mon ey. Ledesma received 10 years in TDCJ with 10 years supervision and 90 days in Terry County Jail plus restitution and fines. Sanchez got 18 months state jail, 3 years supervision, 15 days in jail, and 120 hours community service with substantial restitution and fees. Barrington received 10 years in TDCJ, 10 years supervision, 60 days in Terry County Jail, 240 hours community service and restitution. Smith was sentenced to six years in TDCJ plus costs and fees. Jimenez received 18 months in state jail, 4 years supervision, 120 hours community service, restitution and fees, with jail time for nonpayment.
