Snow Closes Christmas Week With Brownfield Snowfall

New Year's Holiday Closings Announced
Brownfield City Hall and several county offices will close Friday and Saturday for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Local banks and businesses also plan one day closure for New Year’s Day. City notes water and street issues may arise with thawing ice but power supply remains steady. Travelers were stranded as a winter storm hit the area.

Commissioners OK Agent Pickup Bid in Terry County
Terry County commissioners closed 1982 with a brief session approving bids for a five-eighths ton pickup for County Agent Tom Gaither. Charles Darwin Ford bid $9,013, Kelsay Blacklock Chevrolet bid $9,025, and the former was accepted. The pickup will be paid from 1983 budget funds and delivered after Jan. 1.
