Terry County to Receive Federal Emergency Funds
Terry County has been awarded 7911 in Emergency Food and Shelter National Board Program funds to aid local agencies. A county board led by Terry County Judge Doug Ryburn will allocate the money to nonprofit, audited, nondiscriminatory groups capable of delivering food or shelter. Deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31.

Obituary of Lois Hickson Hester of Brownfield
Services for Lois Hickson Hester 84 were held at Memorial Chapel with Elder Ronnie Hedges officiating. Burial was in Terry County Memorial Cemetery. She died December 21 in Bender Terrace Nursing Center in Lubbock. Born August 20, 1915 in Borden County, she married Oscar Hickson January 4, 1934 in Matador. he died March 6, 1980. She married Duard W Hester October 4, 1980 in Wolfforth. he died February 9, 1995. She moved to Terry County in 1937 and Brownfield in 1965, was a member of the XYZ Club. Survived by three sons Gene of Brownfield and Ronnie and Eddie of Lubbock. one brother Willis Freeman of Midland. one sister Ann Culbert of Littlefield. four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Monday offers fried chicken with sides, Tuesday features cheese enchiladas and beans, Wednesday serves barbeque beef with potato, Thursday presents ham with rice and vegetables, Friday offers barbeque pork on a bun with sides. The XYZ Club at 101 S D Street is closed for repairs until January 10.
