The Brownfield News reports area gins nearing year end with 181 114 bales processed. Gins list totals: Tokio Co-op 22 109, Need more Gin 12 696, T S Gin 9 878, Terry County 26 200, Southwest Cotton Growers 35 800, West 11 990, Meadow 26 603, Fiber Tex 18 188, Windham 15 050, Johnson 2 600 with 400 to 500 bales remaining at several sites and many aiming to finish before New Year.
Kristi Fonseca of Dallas and Jimmy Williams of Dallas announce their engagement and approaching marriage. They will wed at 2 p.m. January 29, 2000, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Lubbock with Monsignor Hoffman officiating. Kristi is a Brownfield High School and Texas Tech graduate, working for Dallas Independent School District. Jimmy is a Grandfalls Royalty High School graduate who attended Sul Ross State University and works for Brinker International. They plan to reside in Dallas.
